Azuki, the NFT project themed around anime, has taken its non-fungible IP to the next level. Its recently launched Studio Azuki has partnered with Westbrook, an American multimedia firm co-owned by renowned actor Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. The collaboration aims to blur the boundaries between Web3, anime, and storytelling.
On July 1st, Azuki introduced the anime studio, Studio Azuki, alongside Japanese companies COMISMA and Xenotoon. Azuki explained in a tweet that the anime-focused studio will “develop, produce, and distribute anime globally.” Undoubtedly, the anime-themed studio will bring more people closer to Azuki’s non-fungible IP.
Studio Azuki now joins various initiatives Azuki has introduced to bring more audiences into the anime realm. Other initiatives undertaken by the PFP project to garner significant attention include launching ‘Enter the Garden,’ the Anime.com website, and the $ANIME cryptocurrency.
Shortly after Studio Azuki’s debut, its forged partnership with Westbrook was announced. The joint force will allow Studio Azuki to tap into the American entertainment sector. Highlighting how both firms will benefit from the partnership, Westbrook’s CEO, Ko Yada, said:
“At Westbrook, our mission has always been to tell stories that connect, inspire, and transcend borders. Partnering with Studio Azuki is a powerful step in that direction. Their creative vision and cultural insight align seamlessly with our global strategy. Together, we’re excited to identify and develop projects that resonate deeply with audiences around the world, blending authentic storytelling with boundary-pushing innovation.”
Interestingly, Azuki NFT’s floor price soared following these developments. According to on-chain data from NFT Price Floor, the collection’s floor price increased by over 10% in the past 24 hours to $5,030 at the time of writing. Its traded volume also jumped by 112.26% over the past week, totaling over $890,700. The blockchain also recorded 133 NFT sales at the time of writing, signaling a 104% increase in the past seven days.
Azuki’s efforts to bring its blend of anime and non-fungibility to American audiences are admirable. Time will tell just how well the new audience will embrace the non-fungible anime IP.
